Off-Take Partnership
Open to gold bullion companies, refiners, mints and jewellery manufacturers outside Ghana. This page sets out how a partnership with JED-CONFRA is formed, step by step, so you know what you are walking into before you write.
Why the numbers are not on this page.
Volume, purity bands, pricing basis and settlement terms are commercial terms, and commercial terms belong in a conversation with a counterparty whose identity, funding and end use we have verified. Publishing a headline tonnage to whoever walks past is how unserious desks advertise. We publish the process instead, and we hold to it.
How it is formed
Six steps from first message to first settlement.
No step is skipped, including for a counterparty we like, including for one in a hurry.
-
Enquiry
You write through the contact form or to info@jedconfra.com with your company, your jurisdiction, what you buy and what you do with it. A person replies.
-
Mutual non-disclosure
A two-way non-disclosure agreement is signed before either side discusses volume, pricing or counterparties. It protects your book as much as ours.
-
Know your counterparty, both ways
Incorporation documents, beneficial ownership, licences held, sanctions screening and source of funds. We provide ours on the same terms, and we expect to be asked.
-
Terms and heads of agreement
Quantity, quality band, pricing basis, delivery point, settlement mechanism, inspection rights, term and termination. Written down, then reviewed by your lawyer and ours.
-
Regulatory routing
Assay, pricing and export routed through the channel Ghanaian law requires at the time of shipment, with the documentation that channel produces passed to you.
-
Shipment and settlement
Sealed lot, agreed inspection, settlement on the agreed basis. Every shipment carries the assay record and chain documentation that stands behind it.
Straight answer
Where JED-CONFRA stands today.
We have traded gold in Ghana since March 2019. An application for a Self-Financing Aggregator Licence from the Ghana Gold Board is in preparation. We are not going to tell a foreign buyer we hold something we do not hold, because that is the first thing their compliance team will check and the last mistake we would make.
What we will need from you
- Certificate of incorporation and constitutional documents
- Beneficial ownership down to natural persons
- Any refining, assaying, dealing or import licence you hold
- Banking references and evidence of source of funds
- The end use of the metal, stated plainly
- A named person we can reach, not a general inbox
What you will get from us
- Certificate of incorporation, registration number CS557152015
- Licence position as it actually stands, in writing
- Our ownership and the people who run the company
- Assay method, calibration regime and ticket format
- Sourcing footprint and counterparty screening policy
- A named person, reachable, who answers
What will end a discussion
- A request to ship before licences and documentation are in order
- An advance sought or offered outside a signed agreement
- Refusal to identify beneficial owners or the source of funds
- Any proposal that the origin of the metal be left vague
- Pressure to move faster than the compliance file allows
None of these are negotiable, and raising them tends to answer the question of whether we should be doing business at all.
Write to us.
Tell us who you are, where you are, what you buy and what you do with it. That is enough to start.
