Mining

Where this company intends to go next, written as an intention rather than an announcement.

Read this first

JED-CONFRA GHANA LTD holds no mining lease, prospecting licence, reconnaissance licence or small-scale mining licence as at the date of this page. No resource or reserve has been estimated for any property, and no technical report has been prepared or commissioned. Nothing on this page is an offer of securities, an invitation to invest, or a statement that any project exists.

What follows is the structure we intend to use and the ground we are interested in. When that changes, this page changes with it.

The intention

One vehicle per asset, funded and governed on its own terms.

The plan is to hold each mining interest in a separate special purpose vehicle rather than on the balance sheet of the trading company. A single ring-fenced entity per asset keeps the licence, the partner, the funding and the liabilities of one property away from every other property, and away from the gold desk that pays the bills today.

It is a conventional structure in Ghanaian resource work, and it is the structure a serious partner will expect to see before they discuss anything else.

01

Separate entity, separate books

Each asset sits in its own company, with its own accounts, its own partners and its own funding line.

02

Risk stays where it is created

An issue on one property does not travel to another, and does not travel to the trading desk.

03

A partner can back one thing

An investor or operator can take a position in a single asset without taking a position in the whole company.

Ground of interest

Five regions, and why these five.

The Eastern and Ashanti belts, the Sefwi belt and the Bui corridor carry Ghana's producing and historically worked gold ground. Our interest follows the geology and the corridors the trading desk already works in, which means the places where we know the operators, the district offices and the communities.

Eastern Region
Akyem district ground, adjacent to where the trading office already operates
Bono Region
Sunyani corridor, alongside an existing buying catchment
Ahafo Region
Established producing district in the Sefwi-Bibiani belt
Western Region
Tarkwaian and Birimian ground with long production history
Western North Region
Sefwi belt, contiguous with active operations

Interest in a region is not a claim over any part of it. Nothing here identifies a specific property, and no application over any specific property is announced on this page.

Order of work

Nothing gets announced before it is true.

This is the sequence a mining interest has to clear before it appears on this website as a project rather than an intention.

  1. Ground identified and title checked

A specific property, and a search at the Minerals Commission confirming what is held over it and by whom.

  2. Vehicle formed and partners agreed

The special purpose vehicle incorporated, shareholding agreed in writing, and the operator identified.

  3. Right applied for and granted

The application made under the Minerals and Mining Act, 2006 (Act 703), and a licence actually in hand. Not pending. In hand.

  4. Environmental permit and community consent

Environmental Protection Authority permitting, and agreement with the traditional authority and the affected community before ground is broken.
